A számítási felhő egyik előnye az, hogy fel- és lefelé is gyorsan lehet változtatni az igénybe vett kapacitást, és csak azért fizetünk, amit használunk.
Az "on-demand" árak viszont magasabbak annál, mintha egész évre kötnénk le a kapacitást.
Az Amazon AWS most egy újfajta árazással kísérletezik. Ez valamivel (5-10%-kal) olcsóbb, mint az on-demand. Cserébe egy évre előre le kell adni az ütemezést (ami lehet napi, heti, vagy havi).
Most még csak három régióban érhető el, de az egyik közel van: az EU-ban, Írországban.
